Thomas
Without a doubt, Tommy is one of the most talented dancers in
the world. His unique style is defined by free form body movement and
intricate musicality and he is constantly pushing the limits of swing as
we know it. With over 12 years of dance experience, Tommy not only
exudes expertise on the social dance floor, but he can clearly
articulate the various element that make up his dancing. His classes are
filled with fun, humor, good dance technique and most of all great
dancing. His talents have been passed on to some of the top dancers in
the world today and he is a major organizer/teacher in one of the
strongest dance scenes in Europe, Montpellier, France. Recently Tommy
took 1st place in ULHS Slow Division 2007, 2nd place ILHC Classic
Division 2009, and is a key member of the Ninjammerz Team who performed
their jitters choreography at Frankie95 in New York City. If you haven’t
already had the chance to let this man inspire you, it is one
opportunity you would never want to miss!
Alice
(pronounced uh-lease) started dancing at the age of 4. After 10 years of studying
Ballet, Contemporary and Jazz dance daily, she tried out other styles of
dancing such as african dancing and flamenco when she eventually met her
true love, Lindy Hop! Ever since she has since been touring and teaching
full time living the adventurous Lindy-Lifestyle. Alice is definitely at
her happiest when she is swingin’ it on the dance-floor. You will most
likely hear her giggling from the other side of the room when she is
social dancing. Alice enjoys keeping her dancing simple and natural. It
seems like her silliness has reached enough people since she won the
“dancers choice award” in 2006 and the "competitor choice award" in 2008
at ULHS. She has won several titles in prestigious competitions such as
ULHS and ALHC. In class, she teaches the same principles that she
cherishes as a dancer and she mainly focuses on keeping things simple
and in rhythm. Alice is a member of the Ninjammerz with which she
performs and competes regularly. www.ninjammerz.com.
Teni Lopez-Cardenas (Balboa) Graceful
and fiery. Feminine yet dynamic. Teni Lopez-Cardenas began dancing Lindy
hop as a lucky fluke in college. Within a year, she was invited to join
the Denver-based team 23 Skidoo!, which went on to win 4 National
Championships over the next 2 years. Since then, Teni has become an
accomplished competitor, teacher, and performer, and has had the
pleasure of working with many well-known leads.
In the classroom, Teni maintains a fun and accessible attitude while
focusing on the importance of connection, body awareness, and technique.
Her passion for the dance shines through in her teaching, and she
strives to instill a sense of playfulness while encouraging her students
to develop their own personal style. On the competition circuit, Teni
consistently places in top Lindy Hop and Balboa divisions at many
prestigious events including the International Lindy Hop Championships,
Ultimate Lindy Hop Showdown, American Classic Balboa Championships,
American Lindy Hop Championships, Lindy Focus, Eastern Balboa
Championships, National Jitterbug Championships, and Lindy on the Rocks.
